Mr. Joshua D. Overfelt is proudly serving his third term as a San Felipe Del Rio CISD Trustee for Place II. During his tenure on the Board, Mr. Overfelt has previously held the Board President leadership position. Mr. Overfelt currently serves on the Board Policy Review Committee and the Operations Committee. He has also represented San Felipe Del Rio CISD as a delegate in the 2018 TASB Delegate Assembly.

“I was born and raised in Del Rio. Education is a family tradition. My sisters as well as their husbands are both educators. Both of my parents are retired educators. My mom taught for SFDRCISD for 27 years and my father taught for 33 years with Sul Ross State University here in Del Rio. I myself am a History and Government professor with Southwest Texas Junior College.

“We have a great school system and great students. As a Trustee, I strive to ensure both our students and teachers have everything they need to be successful. We have come far as a district since my first term on the Board, but there is still work to do. I want to ensure our community’s future and our children’s future by serving our District.” Mr. Overfelt’ s current term on the Board will expire in May 2024.
